3 Zero Records, Goldenseal, and John Rose to Raise Money for Local Veterans
4.21.2008

3 Zero Records is announcing a concert fundraiser for veterans in Monmouth and Ocean Counties - with musical performances by Goldenseal and John Rose! The rock-n-roll event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 1, at Ross's Dockside in Sea Bright, and will feature performances by local band Goldenseal and acoustic act John Rose. "We're thrilled to be hosting this event," says Ross's Dockside owner, Mike Ross. Goldenseal/s new single, "Streets of America" (from their latest CD of the same name), has been getting airplay on radio stations across the Garden state; the song is pure American rock, and it's dedicated to US troops, their families, and all veterans. Singer-songwriter John Rose is a native of the Jersey Shore, who's original song "Sense of Direction" will be included in the forthcoming CD, Chill Out: East Coast Compilation. John was also recently named one of the Top Ten Cover Acts in Monmouth County (by Night & Day Magazine). In addition to monies raised through the concert May 1, 30% of net proceeds raised by the sale of Goldenseal's record will go to Vetwork! Tickets are $50 per person, including a spectacular buffet dinner prepared by Ross's Dockside chefs.

According to recent statistics, there are 275,000 homeless veterans across America right now. Vetwork is "working hard" to secure a better life for local veterans in need - vets who have served their country and, through no fault of their own, have ended up on the streets of America. Says William, a former homeless vet in NJ: "Some of these guys are coming back with no arms and no legs, and they were healthy when they went into the service. They're overseas laying down their lives for freedom and they should be treated differently. The members of our armed forces should be a priority!" Vetworks' mission statement is exactly that: distribute funds and valuable resources to area men and women who have bravely served their country, who now happen to be struggling emotionally and financially. Former Army Paratrooper Joe Arata (82nd Airborne), President of Vetwork, says, "Our objective is to use the donations from this concert to help us assist homeless veterans on Monmouth and Ocean Counties. It's a privilege to work with a company like 3 Zero - one that's willing to support our mission of helping America's heroes." Arata and his associates truly appreciate the support of the community to help keep the program going. Says founder of 3 Zero Records, Simon Harrison: "My father was a World War II veteran. He was responsible for the clearing up of the Auschwitz concentration camp. There was no support or counseling for him when he returned to his "normal life" after combat. It affected him a great deal later in his life. He passed away in 2006 from motor neuron disease. I will do whatever I can to help us help our veterans get the support and respect they deserve."
