Mount Zion

Sponsor a Vet for a Night

Mount Zion is Vetwork’s transitional housing facility in partnership with Lacey United Methodist Church. It is the first and only veteran transitional housing facility in Ocean County. The rooms are akin to a college dorm room. Veterans have a bed and furniture, a mini fridge and microwave, along with a coffee pot and some welcome treats. The rooms also have closets and private bathrooms. Veterans, of course, have access to all resources offered by Vetwork as well as resources from LUMC, which include laundry, free lunches, Alcoholics Anonymous/ Narcotics Anonymous meetings, and religious services. This project is a true testament to what can be accomplished and what can happen when organizations in the community join together toward a common goal.

“In that day,” declares the Lord, “I will gather the lame; I will assemble the exiles and those I have brought to grief. I will make the lame my remnant, those driven away a strong nation. The Lord will rule over them in Mount Zion from that day and forever.”

— Micah 4:6-7
